Google's Gemini 2.0 Flash Now Generally Available

Google has announced the general availability of Gemini 2.0 Flash, a model designed for high-volume, high-frequency tasks. It features native tool use, a 1 million token context window, and supports multimodal input. Additionally, Google introduced Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite, a cost-optimized model ideal for large-scale text output, and released an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Pro, which offers enhanced coding performance and the ability to handle complex prompts. These models are accessible through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI.

OpenAI's 'Deep Research' Tool for Complex Tasks

OpenAI has launched "Deep Research," an AI tool designed to conduct multi-step research on the internet for complex tasks. Powered by a version of the upcoming OpenAI o3 model optimized for web browsing and data analysis, it can find, analyze, and synthesize various online sources, including text, images, and PDFs, to create comprehensive reports. The tool is currently available on the web version of ChatGPT and will be rolled out to mobile and desktop apps within February.

GitHub Copilot Introduces New Features

GitHub has enhanced its Copilot tool with new capabilities:
